Use it as a fun Penguin Sensory Bin with a taste-safe filler, like cereal, for your toddlers to practice their fine motor skills as they feed the penguins! Encourage early counting by counting the spoonful’s they feed the penguin.
For a Preschool aged kid, you can use the order sheets that practice counting pom poms up to 10, whilst using the set for counting up to 20 with older kids.
Whether you’re a parent or teacher, these Penguin Counting Activities are a great way to help your kids practice their counting in an independent way. I like to set up activities like this before I go to bed, so they are ready for my daughter to do when I wake up and grab my morning cup of tea!

Different Ways to Play!
There are a number of different ways that you can use these free printables to teach your little ones. I love when one resource can do multiple things! You can laminate them to make them reusable too!
If you have a toddler, you can just use the Penguin Faces in this free printable to make a fun sensory bin. You could use sand or rice as a filler, or if they are prone to putting things in their mouth, try using cereal or another taste-safe filler.
This is a great sensory bin for toddlers who are practicing using a spoon, and working on their fine motor skills (which are needed for writing in the future!)
If you have a Preschooler or school-aged kid, you can use the Customer Order Sheets with numbers from 1-10 or 10-20 to help them practice their counting skills.
Simply print off the Penguin faces and stick them onto a bottle, or cup, with some glue. I use PVA glue so it comes off the cups I am using at the end of the activity. Previously, I have used a stronger glue and stuck the faces to old plastic bottles instead.
Then cut out the customer order sheets and place them in a pile, along with lots of colored pom poms and let your little one’s set to work feeding the hungry penguins!
Sometimes when I do this one, I set out little plates or bowls from my daughter’s play kitchen for the penguin’s food to be set on before they eat. Other times my daughter will just count the pom poms as she pops them into their mouths!
