I’ve found these little number match printables a great way for toddlers and preschoolers to practice number recognition and counting in a fun, play-based way.

I love leaving little activities like this out on the table for my kids to discover themselves. It’s always fun to see the excitement on their faces when they see a new activity to try.

This one also works great as part of a morning basket. A fun, themed activity to do when they first wake up, or whilst you’re making their breakfast or grabbing that first coffee of the day.

How you can use your Christmas Number Match Printable

There are a number of different ways you can use this Christmas Preschool Printable to teach your little ones. I love when one resource can do multiple things!

However you choose to use these printables, your kids will practice number recognition, learn to count, and practise their fine motor skills.

Christmas Tree Scavenger Hunt

Firstly, you could hide your bauble numbers around your home or classroom for your little ones to find. This is a great way to get your kids up and moving about, using up some energy! They’ll also be practising their observation skills, concentration, and attention to detail.

Kids will love using these as a Scavenger Hunt activity and going around with their glue stick, matching up the numbers and sticking them on as they go.

Alternatively, you can laminate the numbers and attach little Velcro dots to them so they can be reused over and over.

Sensory Bin

A second way to play, is to hide all your Christmas Tree numbers is in a sensory bin full of fake snow, rice, or another dry filler.

Your kids then find and match the numbers from there. This is a great option if your kids are a fan of sensory play. It’s like a game of hide-and-seek but on a smaller scale.

Cutting and Sticking Practice

If you’re looking for a quiet-time activity to be completed at a desk you can use this Christmas Tree Number Match Printable as a cutting-and-sticking activity for your Preschoolers. As they match the numbers, they can cut them out and glue them on.

This FREE Christmas Tree Number Match Printable contains 2 sheets. One with the Bauble Numbers to cut out and the other with the Christmas Tree and matching numbers to match them to.

Once you have downloaded them, simply print off, cut out, and you’re ready to go! I recommend printing onto card and laminating if you want to re-use them.
