Daniel and the Lions Den Craft

Daniel and the Lion’s Den is such an exciting bible story to teach your Sunday school class, or your kids at home or school. I created this Daniel and the Lions Den Craft, with free printable, to make this story really come alive for your kids!

I love these kinds of kids crafts. You know, the ones that are super low-prep (I’m talking 5 minutes!) and create a fun homemade toy or activity for the kids once you’ve finished the craft.

If you have more than one kid, you could put them into groups to make this Daniel and the Lions Den scene, and then challenge them to use their craft to tell the story at the end. This really helps to reinforce the story in their minds too.

1. Color in your Characters

Once you have assembled everything you need and printed off your free character sheet (pink download button at the bottom of the article), you are ready to get started.

Grab your coloring pens, pencils or crayons and color in your bible characters.

2. Cut out and Glue

Once you have colored in your bible characters, carefully cut them all out.

Then glue them onto some card, making sure there is plenty of card directly above the character (see next step for further clarification).

3. Get them Standing up!

This is where it is really important that you have glued your figures onto the card with plenty of room directly above them!

Fold the the part of the card with your figure on it, just above their head (see photo above). Then cut carefully around the edge of your figures again, leaving the joining along their head uncut. Your figure should now stand up, similar to a card.

The finished characters!

Once you have finished, they should look like this and be relatively easy to play with! Don’t you just love a craft they can use after they’ve finished making?

I like to go a step further and add a cardboard box (like a shoebox) with shredded paper in it to be used as the Lion’s Den!

This can then be used by your little one’s to tell the story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den themselves! Hands-on learning is the best, after all!
