Numbers Playdough Mats in Action!

My daughter enjoyed using these numbers playdough mats in her play today and now that she can count past 10, we added a playdough number 1 in front of the numbers to create double digit numbers for her to practice!

The Playdough mats each have a different animal that you might meet on Safari or at the zoo. These can be decorated with the playdough color matching their markings. My daughter used an animal book to help her check what color and pattern each animal had.

We then used our playdough to fill in the shape of the number in the corner of the mat, after she practiced tracing the number with her finger. This helps reinforce what the number looks and feels like when written.

Then my daughter, checked the picture on the animals bowl to learn what they eat. She then created this with her playdough and consulted the number on the mat to see how many of each the animal needed for their dinner.
