How you can use your Pumpkin Shape Match Printable

There are a number of different ways you can use this Fall Preschool Printable to teach your little ones. I love when one resource can do multiple things!

However you choose to use these printables, your kids will learn to match shapes, learn their names, and practise their fine motor skills.

Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt

Firstly, you could hide your pumpkin shapes around your home or classroom for your little ones to find. This is a great way to get your kids up and moving about, using up some energy! They’ll also be practising their observation skills, concentration, and attention to detail.

My daughter loved using these as a Scavenger Hunt activity and she went around with her glue stick, matching up the shapes and sticking them on as she went.

Alternatively, you can laminate the shapes and attach little Velcro dots to them so they can be reused over and over.

Sensory Bin

A second way to play, is to hide all your pumpkin shapes in a sensory bin full of leaves, rice, or another dry filler.

Your kids then find and match the shapes from there. This is a great option if your kids are a fan of sensory play. It’s like a game of hide-and-seek but on a smaller scale.

Cutting and Sticking Practice

If you’re looking for a quiet-time activity to be completed at a desk you can use this Pumpkin Shape Match Printable as a cutting-and-sticking activity for your Preschoolers. As they match the shapes, they can cut them out and glue them on.

This FREE Pumpkin Shape Matching Printable contains 2 sheets. One with the Pumpkin Shapes to cut out and the other with the matching shapes to match them to. I have included pictures of them in the image above!

Once you have downloaded them, simply print off, cut out, and you’re ready to go! I recommend printing onto card and laminating if you want to re-use them.
