Learning numbers and practicing counting in Preschool doesn’t have to involve sitting at a desk doing a worksheet! Research has shown that little kids learn best through play, so I created this free printable to help our little ones practice their counting through a fun matching game!

Different ways to use your Dinosaur Printable
There are a few different ways to play and learn with this Dinosaur Counting Preschool Activity.
Firstly, you can use the dinosaurs themselves for a Number Recognition Matching Game! Simply cut them out and turn them all face down on a table. Then take it in turns to turn over two dinos. If you find a pair with matching numbers you can keep them. Keep playing like this until all the dinos have been claimed. The winner is the player with the most dinos!
The second way to play is to stick all the cracked egg shells onto a piece of card. Only glue them around the bottom and side of the shells, to make a little slot in the middle that the dinosaurs will fit into.
Then pop the dinos next to your shell board and encourage your little one to match the dinos to the right shells. There are two dinosaurs per shell.
And finally, a third way to play this is as a Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt!
Hide the dinosaurs around your class, house, or garden (if the weather allows!). Then encourage your little one to find all the dinos and match them up. Once they are matched, they can then find the right shells to pop them into!
