These suncatcher crafts are a lovely all-age craft to do if you have a group of kids with different abilities. Older kids can cut out the template themselves, whilst even small kids can create these if they have the template cut out and stuck onto contact paper for them.
I’m currently working on some more designs, so make sure to pin this post and check back over the next few weeks as I add links to more free templates here!

How to Choose?
Ok, I’ll admit it, I struggled to pick just one or two Farm Suncatchers when I was creating this post! I pondered whether I should just do farm animals? But then what about Tractors? Tractors are a big part of farming for some kids! And the red barn is pretty iconic in movies with farming in them!
So, in the end, I just decided to do a selection of Farm Suncatchers for you to choose from! Hopefully this means there is something that will appeal to every kid! Or, of course, you could choose all of them, like we did!

I have used a few different shades when doing mine, rather than just using one shade of brown for the horse, for example. I feel it adds a bit of texture to it, and it just looks nicer than one block color on the animals.

You can use whichever colored tissue paper you choose with your suncatcher and remember, they don’t have to be the typical colors! If your little one wants to create a pink pony, or a green sheep, you can go along with their imagination and create a colorful farmyard of window decorations!

How to Make your Farm Suncatchers
To prepare this craft, go to the bottom of this post to download your free suncatcher crafts template. You’ll see a big, pink button that says, ‘grab your Free Farm Suncatcher Templates here’.
It’s best to print this template out onto card, rather than paper, as it is less likely to break and much easier to work with.
Once you have your template printed out, you need to cut around the outside of it, and cut out the inside. If your kid is old enough, they can do this part themselves, or help with it. If they are younger then it’s best to prep this bit ahead of time.
I used regular scissors to cut these out. My friend tells me that nail scissors make it much easier!

Now you have your template cut out, you need to carefully stick it onto a sheet of sticky back plastic. I did this with the black lines facing towards me (so that they will be at the back of the craft.) This just means that you don’t have to worry about being too exact with your cutting out!
To decorate these, I simply tore up colored tissue paper and stuck it on. Don’t worry if the tissue paper goes over the lines because at the end, you simply cut around the template to get rid of any excess and then stick them to your window.
You might choose to stick another sheet of contact paper to the back side of the your suncatcher too to make it neater. I then used a very small amount of blue tac stuck to the template lines to stick mine on the window so they could easily be taken down later.
